In our Private Practice, we use the ESWT device PiezoWave² “Multiuse 30” (from the company ELvation) and have had very good results in treating erectile dysfunction with this therapy. In the case of erectile dysfunction, both cases of vascular damage and cavernous nerve injury can be treated. Even after a cancer operation (prostate, urinary bladder, intestine), in which nerves and vessels were damaged, ESWT can be used successfully in our clinic.
Please make an appointment at tel. 030 810 509 40 to discuss the treatment option for your case.
With the PiezoWave² device, we can use so-called lateral linear focussed shockwaves at our Private Practice for Urology for the targeted treatment of erectile disorders. This low-energy shockwave therapy can significantly improve the vascular and cavernous nerve cell function, thereby restoring erectile function in many cases. Usually, good results can be achieved after a few sessions. Even patients who have been treated with PDE5 inhibitors and whose erectile function is no longer satisfactory can often regain a coitus-capable erection with shockwave therapy. Shockwave therapy can also contribute to the reduction of calcified plaques and the reduction of penile curvature in the case of diagnosis of Peyronie‘s disease.
Erectile dysfunction can occur at any age, but its occurrence increases in men from the age of 40. This means men cannot achieve or maintain a sufficiently stiff erection more than 70% of the time during six months. While psychological causes such as stress can be a possible cause in younger men, this is usually not the case in men over the age of 40. However, these can be circulatory disorders, drainage disorders (see venous leakage, cavernous nerve injury, or vascular insufficiency), or hormonal disorders. Since erectile dysfunction is often the first indication of an undetected vascular disease with a risk of stroke or heart attack (cf. high blood pressure), it should always be clarified medically. As part of the treatment, ESWT for potency disorders can be carried out in our practice.
